Short description

SYKE Marine Research Centre (SYKE MRC) carries out research projects and monitoring activities addressing the multiscale variability of phytoplankton populations in the Baltic Sea. SYKE MRC aims to purchase an image and pulse recording flow cytometer instrument to carry out phytoplankton research. Instrument should capture optical characteristics (pulse profiles) of fluorescence and scattering properties of living phytoplankton cells in addition to high resolution photo images collected at high frequency to be used for phytoplankton functional groups and taxonomic identification.
