Short description
The deepening of the seabed in front of the middle section of the quay has generated overbreak, unstable sloping under the quay structure, weakened foundations and load carrying capacity for the quay. Based on a total assessment of quay conditions in relation to damages, stability of structure, the finances and the risk of more slope failures, the contracting authority has decided to replace the middle section with a new quay. The west and middle section of the quay must be connected in such a way that a continuous quay front is achieved. Because the settling in the rear areas of the quay is related to outbreaks of masses under the quay, the rear buildings and terrain must be secured against further sloping and settling.
