Short description
The measure concerns improving the existing avalanche protection of Innerrondalen and Ytterrondalen on County Road 17 in Kilvik in Meløy kommune (municipality). Despite the avalanche paths in Klivik being secured by 2
avalanche covers, the road has been closed multiple times due to avalanche and avalanche danger.
By improving the existing avalanche protection, one can ensure that any avalanche will be led, over the county road, and in this way ensure safe and continual traffic in the winter season with high avalanche danger.
In Innerrondalen, the measures consist of straightening a sharp curve in the avalanche path, removing a forest road in the avalanche path, establish avalanche redirection mounds in the avalanche path, and increase the height of the avalanche redirection mounds over the avalanche cover.
In Ytterrondalen, the measure include extending the avalanche cover to the east by 30 m, and to build new avalanche redirection mounds and increase the height of the existing avalanche redirection mounds.
