The Geophysical Institute intends to acquire an advanced ocean glider equipped with microstructure sensors. The glider will be integrated to and operated by the Norwegian National Facility for Ocean Gliders. The operation site for the glider will be the continental slope, West of Spitsbergen, with water depths covering from 200 m to 1 500 m. The sampling is planned in the upper 500–1 000 m of the water column or to 20 m height above seabed when water depth is shallower.
