Trøndelag County will, from the academic year 2018-2019, introduce a pupil PC scheme, where pupils use private computers. Pupils can use any computer that fulfil certain minimum requirements. Pupils who are in VG1 for the first time will get an offer to order a subsidised PC. It can be a standard model and/or an extended model (PC or Mac), which can be ordered, if a pupil starts on a given education programme, through the county's procurement contract. The county will subsidise all models (standard or extended) with the same amount. Pupils can only order one subsidised computer.
