NRK wants to see what Newsroom/Editorial Production Computer System is best suited for use in the organisation when our contract with ENPS ends in March 2009. The system must provide easy, fast and intuitive editorial work in searching, editing, organizing, newsgathering, editorial planning, sending, archiving etc. One of the end products will be a running order, which will be the basis for broadcasts and the automation systems involved for both radio and TV/Internet. In NRK Omnibus is being used as global control and media management system, linked to Quantel media servers. VizRt is being used for graphics in Oslo. MOS-based integration with these systems must be possible. For radio production NRK is using the DAVID DigAS. An easy integration with this system is desired. One of the main conditions for this project is, to the largest extent possible, to recommend systems with available and working applications fulfilling the requirements outlined in the specification, preferable in use at broadcast companies comparable to NRK or, at least, demonstrated at the vendor’s premises. If necessary, the vendor must provide a gateway solution between their Computer System and ENPS in the transitional period. Direct contact lines to the provider of the Computer System are desired.
