Tests in this product category will mainly be aimed at fireworks that will be used by the general consumer. That is to say the type of fireworks that can lawfully be used during the period 27 December to 1 January by all consumers in Denmark. In Denmark, there is a tradition for using the term “consumer fireworks”, but in the Directive it will be aimed at the designation CAT. 1, CAT. 2 and parts of CAT 3.

It could be the case that there is also a need for testing other pyrotechnic articles. In the Directive they are designated as P1 and P2 articles. This could, for instance, be ship distress flares and in exceptional cases airbags for cars.
