From Innovation to Battlefield Demonstration Week

The project “From Innovation to Battlefield Demonstration Week” (Battle Week) is an initiative from FMV and the purpose of the project is to shorten the time from identification of a military problem to the deployment of a new or modified innovative solution as a new capability within Swedish Armed Forces units or in Ukraine. This will be achieved by presenting military challenges or capability gaps to the market, allowing companies to propose solution concepts.

A selection of the companies that proposes solutions will be invited to, for a fee, test and demonstrated their solution at a test range. Following the completion of the test and demonstration week, a procurement process may be initiated.

The project is based on FMV’s innovation strategy and the overarching defense and innovation strategy approved by the Swedish Government.

The focus of the project is small and medium-sized enterprises, both within and outside the defense sector. The project is intended to run over several years, with multiple Battle Weeks conducted annually.
