Contract for Report about Nordic Cooperation on data to boost the development of solutions with artificial intelligence

The world and the Nordic countries are on the cusp to a new era that comes with the promise of great potential. Artificial intelligence is becoming an increasingly useful tool to tackle and solve many of the challenges that the Nordic Countries face. We can make the public sector more efficient, save lives in the health care sector, and combat climate change. However, to develop these new solutions with artificial intelligence public entities and firms need data.  

At the meeting for the Nordic Council of Ministers in Reykjavik on the 27th of June 2019 the Nordic ministers of enterprise discussed the conclusions from the expert group on AI. The ministers discussed the future Nordic cooperation on AI and availability of data and decided to establish a working group consisting of members from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, The Faroe Islands, Greenland, Åland, Nordic Innovation and the Nordic Council of Ministers.

To enrich the effort made in the working group the report should contribute with criteria to assess if public datasets are relevant for developing AI, provide an initial overview of potentially relevant datasets across the Nordic countries and recommendations and suggestions for the next steps.
