In the Nordic region, the mobility between countries and tradition for public sector collaborations with the strong alignment at cultural and legal levels make the region an attractive venue for fast implementation of future European solutions supporting close collaboration and integrated solutions. Shared solutions for secure digital communication between public bodies and citizens/businesses have proven to be a key enabler in digitisation of public sector services.

The Nordic Council of Ministers will ask a consultancy to make a baseline study of the current situation in the Nordic and Baltic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland Islands) describing current implementation and use of Digital Post solutions, and with the aim of the possibility to connect existing solutions of Digital Post infrastructure in the Nordic and Baltic region to maximize value for both the public sector and private users.
