Review services of applications for the ERC Grants under ERC Work Programmes 2025 and 2026 the Horizon Europe Excellence Science program for the University of Turku applicants

The procurement concerns assistance with reviewing up to 30 applications for the ERC Grants under ERC Work Programmes 2025 and 2026 the Horizon Europe Excellence Science program for the University of Turku applicants. The amount of applications is a non-binding estimate. The university reserves the sole right to decide how much service will ultimately be ordered during the contract period.



The procurement concerns assistance with reviewing up to 30 applications for the ERC Grants under ERC Work Programmes 2025 and 2026 the Horizon Europe Excellence Science program for the University of Turku applicants. The amount of applications is a non-binding estimate. The university reserves the right to decide how much service will ultimately be ordered during the contract period.

The procurement consists of up to 30 applications for ERC Grants. The final amount of application reviews is at the sole discretion of University. The goal is yet to go through all 30 application.
Each application will receive up to 9 hours of review, including up to possible one hour of meeting time between consultant, researcher and possibly a support person appointed by University. The possible presence of a support person is at the sole discretion of University. Consultant participation takes place remotely.
Reviewers must be persons with experience in reviewing ERC and/or similarly competitive fundamental science-focused programs.
Review and communication language is English.

Reviews must follow and be compatible with the programme Deadlines. The ERC applications have four different deadline (August 28, October 2025, November 2025 and January 2026 (last 3 estimated) and review´s deadlines must be compatible with those as well as deadline´s of University.

• University’s schedule for submitting applications to the consultant is
o At latest two weeks before the deadline ERC deadlines. In general University shall deliver applications as early as possible in order to grant a consultant an adequate and decent time for high quality reviews.
• Consultant´s delivery Schedule to University is
o within three working days from the delivery of applications. A longer delivery time may be agreed separately in case University submits applications earlier than the said two weeks
o Meeting (1h, online) schedule is separately agreed with the researcher if needed.

Compulsory requirements for consultants:
- Reviewers must have prior experience in reviewing ERC and/or similarly competitive fundamental science-focused programs
- Reviewers must be available to evaluate for all levels of proposals and all panels of the ERC
- Reviewers must be available for 1h online meetings, in case University so decide and allow University support person to join
