The Government has decided to open passenger rail transport to competition. The Ministry of Transport and Communications is responsible for organising the competitive tendering, including tasks such as the drawing up of the tender documents, the more specific definition of the subject of the procurement and the procurement contracts. The passenger rail transport services will be opened to competition step by step.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications is now preparing the competitive tendering for the regional rail services in southern Finland and requires experience in organising similar competitive tendering processes particularly from the viewpoint of business and economics.
