Two swimming halls will be constructed. Hundvåg swimming hall is altogether 2 937 m2 and Kvernevik is altogether 3 060 m2. The difference in size is due to the fact that the Kvernevik swimming hall has a somewhat larger basement area due to access conditions, but the areas of the actual swimming halls and change rooms are the same in both of the centres. The material choice and technical facility will be the same in both of the halls. The halls are almost identical, Kvernevik swimming hall is a mirror image of the Hundvåg swimming hall. In addition a substation will be built at Kvernevik as sequencing requirements.
The plan is to start with Hundvåg swimming hall, then to move over to Kvernevik swimming hall to do the same job there. (If the contractor is the same for both of the halls.) Start of excavation works at Hundvåg swimming hall Spring 2013. Start of excavation at Kvernevik swimming hall Autumn 2013.
