Short description

This document is a prior information notice. This is not a procurement announcement, not an Invitation to Tender, nor will its publication start a Tender Procurement Process. Tampere University Foundation sr, which operates as the Tampere University (TAU), began its operation on 1 January 2019 when University of Tampere and TTY Foundation sr (Tampere University of Technology) merged. The priority areas of the Tampere University Foundation sr are technology, health and society. Tampere University Foundation sr is the majority shareholder of Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK). We announce a pre-invitation for companies to present us with information of what do they have to offer for automated slide scanning purposes. For digital microscopy and analysis of large amount of histology slides, we are looking for an automated slide scanner that is able to handle both regular and double-wide (‘macro’) slides to convert glass slides into high-resolution digital data by high-speed scanning. Must have at least 20 x and 40 x scanning capability and proven ability to convert existing proprietary image files to DICOM compatible file format. We need image data interoperability, regular/macro slide support, sustained device and software support, high brightfield image quality (both area, focus, color), highly reproducible brightfield image quality, ability to manage device configuration remotely, lowest possible user maintenance and device babysitting time, easiest ability to load slides, and widest set of optional additions that can be added later or included in the final quote.

Headline of the message ‘Tampere University SlideScanner, interested to quote’. University will have one-to-one negotiations with each interested company before starting the actual bidding process. The discussions will be conducted using Teams meeting tool. The companies are urged to present a short video (max 30 min) of an instrument in real work plus all relevant technical details to visualise the user angle on the instruments. In addition, all relevant data sheets should be uploaded to the project teams data storage following instruction that will be sent to you later. Interested suppliers can express their interest in the procurement to anja.rovio.@tuni.fi by 20. April 2021.
